The internet has become a vital part of human lives today. This is where people from around the world gather and share information about their tradition, culture, life, education or anything else that you can see around the world. News about the affair of other countries can be viewed through the internet. Just one click to their website and you can get anything from it. If you are looking for the news of your country while you are away, a simple input of their website to the web browser will do the trick. Almost every prominent entity of the world has their own official website in order to reach people  who really need of their information the most. But with the lower ones, particularly websites that are still newly established in the internet, it will take a while for them for the people to find their website. Depending on the content and how the developer created their website, their presence will be noticed sooner or later with the help of a search engine.
A search engine is a system in the internet designed to gather information based on the keywords that user has inputted. Search engines are in form of websites with a text field where the user places the keywords that will take him or her to the information they are looking for. With the hit of the Enter key or the click of the search button, a results page will appear with the topmost of the list the most relevant to its search. Most search engines place the most relevant returns at the first of the list until the least relevant. The websites that has reached the top ten are those close to the keywords searched by the user. The list is a link that will redirect the user to the website. These websites that have reached the top of the list has a very high presence in the internet.

Keywords are a group of words or a sentence based on the subject the user wants to gather information from. For example if a user wants to find information regarding foods that will cause constipation, they type the keywords 'foods that causes constipation' or reduce the number of keywords to 'foods, constipation' will bring you more results. The narrower your search keywords are, the closer you will get to the information you are looking for.
In turn the websites will do their best to place their rankings at the very top of the search. Every website do look like they are in competition and the most relevant information that are placed in their website on a particular subject, they closer they will get to the first page. A search engine will do its job by 'crawling' inside a website, finding the keywords that are relevant to the search. They have other work to do as well like the number of visitors per day and how rich their content is filled with the right keywords. That is why competitive websites hire SEOs to bring their websites to the top of the list.
